OUR Story
The Chilterns offer a quiet beauty that reveals itself slowly. Rolling countryside, winding footpaths, grazing animals, hidden pubs, farm shops and a sense of stillness feels a million miles away, despite being so close to London.
The Wild Root was created to share that. A place designed for people like us with busy lives, full schedules, constantly thinking and always switched on. We wanted to create a space to step away. To pause before burnout. To reconnect with nature, with each other and with a more intentional way of living.
We’ve intentionally kept it small, just three cabins, so that everything feels considered and personal. Every detail has been thought through so that when you arrive, you can just be. No planning. No rushing. No decisions to make. Just an opportunity to really appreciate the beauty in the little things.
Slow mornings with coffee outside. The sound of birds. Evenings by the fire. Cooking together. Relaxing. Switching off. Walking together not along busy streets, but through open paddocks, past grazing animals and across quiet countryside to a local pub, farm shop or nearby coffee spot.
The Wild Root isn’t about escaping to somewhere far away. It’s about discovering what’s already here, and giving yourself the space to properly experience it.
