frequently asked questions
Do the cabins have everything we need?
Yes, each cabin is fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a kitchen, bathroom and thoughtfully considered essentials throughout.
For full details, please see each cabin page, or feel free to email us at stay@thewildroot.co.uk.
Do we need to bring food and drinks?
Each cabin is self-catered. The kitchen is stocked with more than just the basics — oils, spices, condiments and essentials are all there, so all you really need to bring is fresh produce.
If you’d prefer, you can have something ready and waiting for your arrival with one of our supper options or extras.
Is there WiFi?
Yes — each cabin is connected to Starlink WiFi. That said, many guests find themselves using it less than they expected.
Are dogs allowed?
Not at launch. As dog owners ourselves, it’s something we’d love to introduce in the future, but for now — with carefully selected furnishings and an open, natural setting — we’re starting without dogs.
Can children stay?
The Wild Root is designed as a space for two — calm, quiet, and intentionally set up for adults to switch off and reconnect — so we’re not currently able to accommodate children.
Do the cabins have heating?
Yes — all cabins have a log burner, with firewood and matches provided, along with warm bedding and blankets to keep things comfortable year-round.
Rise also benefits from underfloor heating, while Dusk and Ember have wall-mounted radiators.
How do we get there and check in?
Your postcode will bring you directly to the track leading to The Wild Root. From there, you’ll drive down to a set of double wooden gates, where you can scan a QR code at the intercom for access.
Follow the ‘The Wild Root’ signs to the site area, park in your designated space, then grab a trolley and follow the winding paths to your cabin. Full arrival details will be sent ahead of your stay, but if you’re unsure at any point, just reach out — we’re always happy to help.
Where do we park?
Each cabin has its own designated parking space. From there, it’s a short walk to your cabin — we provide a trolley to make bringing your things up easy.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Earliest check in is 3.30pm and we kindly ask that you check out by 10.00am. Early check-in and late check-out can be added to your stay during the booking process, along with a curated selection of enhancements.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
We understand that plans can change. If you need to amend your booking, please get in touch and we’ll always do our best to help, subject to availability and notice. Full details will be provided at the time of booking.
