We had the most beautiful weekend escape staying in the Rise cabin. The cabin had everything we could have wanted: a wonderful outdoor bath, BBQ, firepit and outdoor shower. The sauna was 10/10, and the landscaping was so peaceful and thoughtfully designed that it felt incredibly private while still allowing us to fully enjoy the nature around us, including the occasional visit from the cows next door! It was such a relaxing and special stay, and we can’t wait to come back.
Great stay at a really private and peaceful location. Everything was such a high standard and the hosts were really thoughtful, making everything as easy as possible for us. Nearby towns, villages and farm shops are great. We even headed into London for the day, which was really easy to get to and from via Amersham. Will recommend this place to our family and friends!
This place is amazing. So peaceful and relaxing. It’s just what my wife and I needed to have a couple of days to escape from the madness of my recent cancer diagnosis. The owners have created a truly beautiful space and hosted us with kindness and thoughtful touches.
We stayed for three nights in the Ember Cabin at The Wid Root and loved absolutely everything about our stay. The attention to detail and the quality of every aspect of the cabin and surrounding was outstanding. It was clear that so much thought and care had gone into creating such a special place. Jess and Jamie were wonderful hosts. They had thought of everything, making our stay so comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for the perfect place to switch off and truly unwind, I couldn't recommend The Wid Roots more highly!

Had the most amazing stay at The Wild Root! The photos don’t do the cabins justice and everything is so luxe and thought through! The beds are so comfortable it felt like the ultimate escape! Went as a group across all of the cabins, was nice to all be able to hang out but also to have our own privacy and time to relax ✨
We had such a gorgeous stay in the Dusk cabin at Wild Root! Every detail was so well thought out and luxury ❤️ We loved the privacy of each cabin and its outdoor space, the special touches like the welcome basket & pizza oven left ready for us! The hosts made our stay so special and their communication was so helpful and friendly throughout. Big recommend from us! So many lovely places to visit locally too for food/exercise/pub gardens + the guide shared by the hosts was full of ideas 🫶
We had a lovely night away in the beautiful Rise cabin celebrating our business. Jess, our wonderful host was incredibly welcoming and showed us around. The cabin is peaceful and the surrounding area is gorgeous. We’re giving it a perfect 10/10 and can’t wait to book again.
We stayed in the Rise cabin over a sunny weekend and genuinely didn't want to leave. It felt like everything had been thought about and no expense spared, from the quality of the linens and the beautiful crockery to the incredible outdoor bath. We paid for the extras of the breakfast hamper and the pizza making kit and they were so worth it. We were so happy by the cabin surrounded by trees that we didn't leave for our entire stay. We've already got our next stay booked in.
We visited The Wild Root for a weekend escape and it was one of our favourite stays we've done. We spent a morning walking up to Coombe Hill which was stunning, and then spent most of the afternoon in the outdoor bath. The whole place felt so considered. Nothing felt generic. We added the breakfast hamper on and it was lovely to have gorgeous ingredients without having to think. Already planning a return.
Our story
After years living and working in London, we came home to Buckinghamshire and created The Wild Root.
We’d both worked on high-end spaces in the city. Here, we wanted to bring that same care to three cabins in the countryside: comfortable beds, kitchens you’ll want to cook in, and plenty of reasons to spend time outside.
